Programs & Projects

Moab Solutions is a unique organization in Moab, Utah, that combines environmental stewardship programs with efforts to help the homeless and other individuals who require assistance. Please see the history page to read more about the evolution of Moab Solutions and how we came to have this dual mission.

Environmental Stewardship:
Moab Solutions conducts several types of inter-related environmental projects (click on each key phrase for more detailed info):
  • Recycling collection, promotion, and education.
  • Litter clean-ups in town, in parks, and in the beautiful canyons surrounding Moab.
  • Ecological restoration in canyons, streams and other habitats and recreational areas.

Homeless Assistance:
Moab Solutions offers a variety of services to people in need in our community, including the homeless. We provide referrals to local social service agencies, through our street-level outreach.  When direct financial resources are required, we activate our Emergency Needs Fund, a fun that addresses emergency needs and takes requests from law enforcement, non-profits, agencies, churches and individuals. In 2021 we spent $39,513 on assists, averaging $3,293 a month.
  • Camp cleanups to improve living conditions, and foster relationships that lead to social services.
  • Training in recycling sorting: pride and job skills are promoted by teaching the homeless to sort and maintain recycling.
  • Social services & direct assistance:  Connecting the indigent with shelter, medical care, rehab, and job training.
