The Glass Project

Middle school students lend a hand.
The Glass Project predates the formation of Moab Solutions by half a year. It all started with the idea of "just picking up a few pieces a day" during morning walks, then it expanded into organized outings with larger groups of people.

Over the years we have worked with middle school students, Outward Bound groups, University groups, and Moab Solutions volunteers.

We are in the process of removing thousands of bits of broken glass from along the trails and rock ledges on both sides of Mill Creek in the Powerdam area. This glass is not only an ugly blight on the landscape, but it's sharp and dangerous for people and animals alike.

Since November of 2003, we have removed thousands of bits of glass - but we still have thousands more to go.  Some of the rocky ledge are almost free of glass--and that motivates us to keep on keeping on.

If you or your group would like to join us in the Glass Project, please give us a call at 435.401.4685
